Global Timed Releases

Launch your release at a specified time across the globe!

Updated over a week ago

What is a timed release?

Timed releases allow you to set the exact time a release should be made live on DSPs. By default, all releases go live to stores at midnight on the eastern most timezone of that territory. For example, releases going live in the US, will go live at midnight New York time. This behaviour can be adjusted through the use of a Timed Release.

How do I configure a timed release?

Timed releases can be configured when you upload your release. If you don't see this option, please speak with your account manager. On this screen you can configure the hour, minute and period you'd like the release to go live.

You may also opt to do a synchronous release. This will allow you to configure the timezone at which the release will go live in. This allows your release to go live at the same time across the globe.

We'll also show you a preview of when the release will go live if you use the synchronous option.

What is the difference between synchronous and non-synchronous?

Synchronous releases ensure that your music goes live simultaneously across all Digital Service Providers (DSPs). For instance, if you choose for the release to occur at 8 PM in New York, it will automatically adjust to local times elsewhere, becoming 1 AM in London, 2 AM in Paris, and 10 AM in Tokyo the following day. This strategy is advantageous for global launches, allowing you to coordinate a unified marketing effort worldwide.

On the other hand, non-synchronous releases will be set live at the specified local time in each territory. For example, setting the time to be 8pm, will result in this going live at 8pm in London, 8pm in Paris and 8pm in New York.

How can I disable a timed release?

If you have yet to submit your release, simply toggle the campaign off. Please note that this will delete the campaign and if you wish to enable again, you'll need to fill out all the information again.

If you've submitted your release and it has been sent to stores, please reach out to our team. We'll be able to disable this on our end for you and update the stores.
